Last time we looked at working on high-resolution screens, it was a less than pleasant affair. Software was lagging behind hardware, due to which that expensive 4K screen actually could look worse than a common garden variety full hd model. Thankfully, by now operating systems and major software suites have caught up. We examined a whole bunch of software on HiDPI screens and came away pleased. As a plethora of screenshots demonstrates, most software is displayed fine on high pixel densities, with modern screens providing additional detail and nicer rendering of text and icons, while preserving layout and keeping menus legible. A lot has changed in two years!
