A good BIOS lies at the heart
of every good motherboard, and the Soyo P4S Dragon is not one to be left short.
The BIOS Soyo ship withe P4S
Dragon is very fully featured and even allows the user to adjust MAC addresses
without the need for another EEPROM. On this screen we can see the various
memory controls the overclocker has access to. DDR voltage controls are taken
care of on another menu so don't worry - the settings are there.
Standard overclocking tools
are punctuated with AGP, DDR, and Vcore voltage options, and CPU to DRAM
clock ratios. The BIOS supports 1:1, 3:4, 3:5, 4:3, and 4:5. Incidentally,
Soyo's instructions are really well written for the BIOS section, they explain
all the terms a little which is great for those lesser known options.
Running a 2.0GHz Williamette
processor on this board we were a bit limited by what we could accomplish in
terms of overclocking. Never the less, a small boost from 2.0GHz to 2.16GHz was
a welcome one and the Soyo P4S Dragon remained quite stable.
