HP ScanJet 6100C scanner Review

A scanner is a scanner is a scanner... right? Well for most of the dime a dozen plastic boxes out there I'd say yes. When it comes to this puppy I'd have to pause. HP have traditionally been know for building big, heavy and expensive equipment. While the 6100C meets all those requirements it is also a very well made scanner, that will last many years. Now just to set the record straight this is not the kind of scanner the local computer store throws in with a new PC to try and get the sale, no this scanner costs about a grand itself! But for all that money you do get a professional-quality large bed SCSI-based scanner. So without further ado, let's take a look at this top-of-the-line scanner.

First impressions:

The HP 6100C is a big scanner, measuring 23" long, 14.5" wide and 5.2" tall. HP have maintained a good tradition of producing solidly build products, both in terms of materials and longevity. This scanner maintains a few added features that stand as a testament to HP's design criteria.
