Benchmarks: PCMark04, PCMark05, 3DMark2001

PCMark04 Source: FutureMark

PCMark04 is an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including whole applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to maintain a smaller installation size while still giving accurate results.

2x 512MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (273/546) 6407

PCMark04's memory score is very good when overclocked, we see a nice performance boost due to the higher clocks here. Overall it does not do much for the system however.

PCMark05 Source: FutureMark

PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

2x 512MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (273/546) 5043

The overall score is flat.... however in the memory portion of PCMark05 we see a decent boost in memory numbers.

3DMark2001SE Source: FutureMark

By combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark 2001 SE continues to provide a good overall system benchmark. 3DMark2001 SE was created in co-operation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better performance.

2x 512MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (273/546) 28763

Remember the CPU speed is approximately the same, but a 1000 point boost due to memory overclocking is pretty good.
