Blistering Debut of NVIDIA Titanium-Based Graphics Cards Helps VisionTek Seize Growing Share of Retail Sales and Industry Awards

VisionTek strengthens RETAIL SUCCESS in 3D GRAPHICS as holiday season GREETS PC CONSUMER

S

GURNEE, Ill. - Dec. 10, 2001 - Fueled by the successful debut of three new additions to its Xtasy(tm) graphics accelerator line, VisionTek, a leading provider of advanced graphics and memory solutions for PCs, today announced that it is the nation's leading graphics accelerator maker in retail sales growth - and is lengthening its list of coveted industry awards. On the heels of introducing three new video cards based on Titanium(tm) graphics processors from NVIDIA® Corporation, VisionTek secured 34 percent of all U.S. retail sales of graphics accelerators in October, according to the latest report from NPD INTELECT Market Tracking®.

The latest figures signal consistently growing market share for VisionTek as it enters the 2001 holiday buying season. According to NPD INTELECT's monthly retail sales reports, VisionTek's market share has increased 41.6 percent since August. Meanwhile, VisionTek's new Xtasy 6964, Xtasy 6564, and Xtasy 5864 were the first cards based on the NVIDIA Titanium processor to reach consumers when they shipped in early October.

"In an intensely competitive market that rewards first-to-market suppliers, VisionTek is showing the rest of the pack how to play," said Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie Research, the leading multimedia market research firm. "VisionTek has redefined the way new silicon gets from the fab to the consumer, delivering it on time and at price points that sell. This is the new model of success in the PC graphics space today, and undoubtedly competitors will attempt to mimic it."

Helping to accelerate VisionTek's leadership is a growing list of industry awards for its line of Xtasy graphics accelerators, including: * Maximum PC's Kick Ass Award and Perfect 10 Score for Xtasy 6964 (December 2001 issue); * PC Gamer's Editor's Choice Award for Xtasy 6964 (Holiday 2001 issue); * Computer Source Magazine's Editor's Choice Award for Xtasy Everything 5564 (November 2001 issue); and * Computer Gaming World's "Ultimate Gaming Machine" four-time Card of Choice Distinction (January 2002 issue).

"VisionTek has carefully engineered its consumer business to enable consumers to gain fast access to popular NVIDIA -based graphics products at competitive prices throughout North America - and we're delighted to see our success borne out in these latest marketshare figures," said John Malley, director of marketing for VisionTek. "As we push further into the crucial holiday buying season, we're making sure that the Xtasy brand is synonymous with hot-selling, hot-performing graphics accelerators that turn PCs into the ultimate gaming and entertainment platforms."

VisionTek offers NVIDIA-based graphics solutions for all levels of consumers at multiple price points. VisionTek manufactures its products at a 70,000-square-foot facility 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois. VisionTek's time-to-market advantages as a U.S.-based company, combined with its high-volume manufacturing capabilities, enable the company to deliver new technologies to North American retail channels ahead of its competitors.
