VisionTek Earns NO. 1 SPOT IN RETAIL SALES

GURNEE, Ill. - Jan. 16, 2002 - VisionTek, a leading provider of advanced graphics and memory solutions for PCs, today announced that it has captured the top retail spot among PC graphics accelerator manufacturers. Sparked by the soaring success of their Xtasy(tm) video cards based on Titanium(tm) graphics processing units (GPUs) from NVIDIA® Corporation, VisionTek seized more than 42 percent of all U.S. retail graphics card sales for November 2001, according to the latest report from NPD INTELECT Market Tracking®.

The latest market share data confirms that VisionTek has taken a commanding retail lead over all other board manufacturers, marking the first time an NVIDIA graphics card partner has achieved market share dominance in U.S. stores. The news also means that VisionTek achieved a strategic sales goal to become the No. 1 supplier of graphics cards at retail by the end of 2001.

"We are very pleased with Visiontek's rapid retail growth in 2001," said Jeff Fisher, senior vice president of sales at NVIDIA. "NVIDIA has grown to become the #1 retail graphics supplier with partners like Visiontek and the award-winning performance of the Titanium and MX families of GPUs."

"VisionTek's dominance in U.S. retail stores is the direct result of a dedicated effort to bring the industry's best graphics technology to consumers on time and at price points that sell," said John Malley, director of marketing at VisionTek. "We are proud to have achieved this milestone during the toughest holiday shopping season in a decade."

VisionTek offers NVIDIA-based graphics solutions for all levels of consumers at multiple price points. VisionTek manufactures all of its products at a 70,000-square-foot facility 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois. VisionTek's time-to-market advantages as a U.S.-based company, combined with its high-volume manufacturing capabilities, enable the company to deliver new technologies to North American retail channels ahead of its competitors. With its first-to-market, best-selling Xtasy 6964 graphics accelerator, featuring NVIDIA's Ti 500 chipset, VisionTek has won major awards including Maximum PC's Kick Ass Award, Computer Gaming World's Editor's Choice, and PC Gamer's Editor's Choice.
