MARKHAM, Ontario, July 18, 2002 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ:
ATYT), executing on its strategy of enabling the broader market with
leading-edge technologies, today introduced the RADEON(tm) 9000 and
RADEON(tm) 9000 PRO, two new visual processors architected specially for
mainstream users. They offer the most complete set of features and the
highest performance in the mainstream market.

The impressive list of features found in the RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000
PRO include:

* Quad-pipe architecture: Four parallel rendering pipelines to power the
most challenging applications with amazing speed;
* Programmable pixel and vertex shaders: SMARTSHADER(tm) technology takes
advantage of the advanced new features in Microsoft(r) DirectX(r) 8.1 and
means even the newest and most advanced 3D games will be fully supported;
* Flexible multiple display architecture supported by HYDRAVISION(tm)
desktop management software enabling productive and effective use of
multiple displays; and
* Industry-leading video playback: New FULLSTREAM(tm) technology leverages
pixel shaders to accelerate video and improve the quality and scalability
of streaming video.

ATI is immediately shipping a RADEON 9000 PRO graphics card, featuring
of DDR memory and flexible dual-display support including DVI-I, VGA and
TV-out with a suggested retail price of $149. ATI's board partners will
ship products based on the RADEON 9000 and RADEON 9000 PRO chips
immediately at very affordable prices.
