Overclocking:
Even though we've had success
overclocking Samsung memory on the GeForce4 Ti4600 cards we weren't
too optimistic about the overclockability of the 5 ns Samsung DRAM
on the MX440 (default speed is 400 MHz). We were in for a big surprise, the memory went
all the way up to 485 MHz with no artifacts! 1 MHz higher though and Artifact
Tester would report that a few were present. Even at 500 MHz memory we
were unable to spot any "snow" in our games but there was the occasional tear here
and there. We might have been able to hit even higher had we added ramsinks to
cool the memory.
360 MHz core speed! I was blown away by that because it is pretty amazing considering we're still using standard stock cooling!
As you'll see in the coming benchmarks, overclocking the videocard
brings a substantial performance boost!

As you probably see, we've omitted the CodeCreatures benchmark
since it requires a videocard with Pixel Shaders.
