AquaMark is another DirectX 8 benchmark. Using
vertex shaders, any card that is DirectX8 compatible will not just have a huge
speed boost, the image will also look better. Default test has 24 MB worth of
textures.

As the
resolution is turned up, both videocards begin to max out. Still, the Crucial
Radeon 8500LE maintains about a 20% performance advantage over the
MX440.
CodeCretures requires a fully compatible DirectX 8
videocard with preferably 128 MB of RAM to store textures. Codecreatures
utilizes vertex as well as pixel shaders to run their tests.

Because
the GeForce4 MX440 is not a DirectX 8 part, it can not run the CodeCreatures
benchmark. While being slow, at least the Crucial Radeon 8500LE can run the program.
