Sandra is designed to test the
theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers
taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world
performance.
We chose only to publish the memory bandwidth scores
because with the CPU speed exactly the same for all motherboards, we would see
almost no difference in the CPU benchmarks. Sandra shows us that the i845G
boards come in first, followed by the ECS L4IBAE and Albatron PX845EPro. Those
two i845E motherboards have dividers that enable higher memory speeds by default. The BD7II-RAID does as well, but that
divider is not enabled by default so we didn't use
that mode.
