Benchmarks: AquaMark3, Gun Metal 2
AquaMark3
is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming
performance of a computer system. Because the
benchmark extensively utilizes DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it
represents the requirements of typical gaming applications in 2003 and 2004.
In
AquaMark3, the Albatron GeForceFX 5700P Turbo comes in last. A bit of
overclocking can fixe
that though. :) As mainstream cards go, the Radeon 9600XT maintains a slight
performance advantage here.
Gun Metal
2 is one of the first games that will be taking advantage of DirectX 9 technology. According to Gun Metal 2, 2x AA is
enabled by default on all videocards and
the listed framerates are average.
Please
take the overclocked Albatron GeForceFX 5700P Turbo results with a grain of
salt. I really can't explain why the overclocked FX 5700P Turbo performs so
"well." I ran the benchmark five times just to make sure that the results were
legit, and every time I got the same thing. In Gun Metal at this resolution, the
Albatron FX5700P Turbo is a better card than the Radeon 9600XT.
At stock
speeds we can see that the GeForceFX 5700P Turbo is slightly faster than the
9600XT, which is good. I guess ATI aren't the best at everything. ;)
