Benchmarks: AquaMark 3, Comanche 4, X2: The Threat
AquaMark3
is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming
performance of a computer system. Because the benchmark extensively utilizes
DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it represents the requirements of
typical gaming applications in 2003 and 2004.
The
integrated Radeon 9200 videocard used with the Gigabyte GA-8TRS350MT does just a
tad better than the other integrated video boards in Aquamark3.
The
Comanche 4 benchmark demo is a unique benchmark as it represents a real-world
gaming experience. It contains the single player "Eagle's Talon" mission from
the game as well as a detailed cinematic. This DirectX 8.1 benchmark demo will
measure your system's performance in the standard frames per second format. The
benchmark was run with audio disabled.
All the
integrated systems run in a dead heat, and the results are none to
great...
A
completely rewritten 3D engine based on DirectX8 encompasses many visual effects
such as volumetric Nebulae (gas clouds) that have a real impact in the game (you
can hide in them), many new engine, shield, weapon and explosion effects.
Objects cast real dynamic 3D shadows! Dynamic DP3 bump mapping allows a
previously unseen level of detail.
Here in
X2: The Threat, we see that the Gigabyte GA-8TRS350MT performs quite nicely.
It's Radeon 9100 IGP chipset gives it the room to outperform the other
RS300-based motherboards.
