By combining DirectX8 support with completely new
graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues to provide good overall system benchmarks.
3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and
processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite
demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test
a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders,
Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping,
support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests
using real-time physics.

The MSI NX6600GT-VTD128SP performs on par with the other AGP GeForce 6600GT in our test. We would have
expected a bit better as the memory is running 100 MHz faster, but perhaps
3DMark2001 is too slow to stress the videocard.
3DMark05 is the latest version of the highly
favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series. It is the first benchmark to
require DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or
higher!

In 3DMark05, the MSI
NX6600GT-VTD128SP performed slightly faster than the AGP 6600GT, as it should.
Overclocking the card boosted the overall performance nicely.
