By
combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues
to provide good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001SE has been created in
cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide
a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance
by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance
abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point
Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene
Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using real-time
physics.

Decent but not overwhelming results here on our first 3D benchmark. The
single MSI NX6800-TD128E comes close to 6800GT performance levels when
overclocked, and the stock and overclocked SLI setups prove equal to X800XL and
XT performance respectively.
3DMark05
is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking
series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with
support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!

Much better results here. The single MSI NX6800-TD128E
bests its 6800GT big brother in 3DMark 05 when overclocked, and the SLI setup is
considerably faster than anything else in the roundup. SLI overclocking gave a
noticeable performance boost too.
