Fresh paper can be inserted into the paper
cassette by flipping up the transparent plastic dust cover which doubles as the printer output
tray.
The
tray is removable for storage. Once pulled out of the front of the
printer, a flap on the SPP-2040 can be snapped closed.
The six different flash media ports are all located along the top front
edge of the Samsung SPP-2040. It can be a little difficult to slide
the CompactFlash card into the slot at right because there isn't much of a bevel
around the opening. You'll also likely have a hard time seeing the
proper orientation for inserting memory cards because of the black-on-black
plastic. A status LED at the center lets users known when the cards are being
accessed.
The dye sublimation ribbon cartridge and printer. The
cartridge contains just the right amount of CMYK films to match the amount of
photo paper the manufacture bundles with it. If there is a paper jam,
one photo's worth of film is going to be wasted.
As part of the 4-step dye-sub
printing process, the photo paper is momentarily pushed out the rear of
the printer in preparation for the next colour film (this happens
once each for CMYK). If there is less than 6" clearance behind the
printer for the paper to go, you'll cause a paper jam and waste paper.
