Asus M2R32-MVP Motherboard Highlights
The Asus
M2R32-MVP has four DDR2 memory slots positioned above the socket AM2 AMD
processor area. Each pair of DDR-2 slots is colour coordinated to indicate
which slots should be occupied for the dual channel memory controller to
be enabled.

If you're
only using a single PCI Express x16 videocard, insert it into the first
PCI Express x16 slot (blue). The two PCI Express x1 and two 32 bit PCI
slots should be plenty for expanding the motherboard. The Asus M2R32-MVP
has its Firewire and USB2.0 headers located along the bottom edge of the
PCB, which make connecting things up and routing cables a little
simpler.
|
The main
24 pin ATX power connector and IDE connector are placed on the right side
of the Asus M2R32-MVP motherboard which helps keep both cables away from
the other system devices. Note the proximity of the ATi RD580 heatsink.
The Crossfire Xpress 3200 chipset does get pretty hot, so you'll need to
have good system airflow to keep temperatures to a
minimum.

The ATi
SB600 Southbrigde only supports four internal Serial ATA slots. The Clear
CMOS jumper is located between the BIOS chip and the CMOS battery. Asus
should better indicate where this jumper is however. The floppy connector
is located at a poor position at the bottom of the motherboard and should
be placed elsewhere where the cable will be less of an interference.
