Super Pi Mod 1.5 Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1 Million digits and 19 iterations.

The Gigabyte GA-945PL-S3 doesn't do too badly in Super Pi, a time of 27 seconds is pretty decent. In effect, it's kind of a waste to run a Core 2 Duo processor on this platform, but until 800MHz FSB Celeron 'conroe-L' chips become more available it's the best we can do.

PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

PCMark05 is not very kind to the Gigabyte GA-945PL-S3 motherboard. It's surprising to see how much of a difference 600 MHz in clock speed makes (from 2.4GHz to 1.8GHz). The memory is running in DDR2-533 mode as well.
