Enermax Infiniti 720W Power Supply Review
Enermax Infiniti 720W Power Supply Review - PCSTATS
Enermax is power supply brand that differentiates itself on features and appearance. Both are good qualities, but power efficiency is something it should improve upon.

Appearence and Physical Specifications

At the bottom of the Enermax Infiniti we find the large 135mm intake fan with translucent fan blades. There is a goldish coloured wire grill in front, which does its job with a minimal amount of airflow restriction. The warranty sticker on the top right hand corner covers one of the power supply screws and damaging it voids the three year warranty that covers the Infiniti 720W power supply. The power supply has a glossy brushed steel finish.

Moving form 120mm fans to 135mm fans allows the blades to spin slower, while the same volume of air is moved.

On the front of the Infiniti 720W power supply we don't see too much. There is the connector for the main power cable, a hard power switch and a status indicator LED. There is no 115/230V switch because the Enermax power supply supports Active PFC. A honey comb vent allows air to pass through the rear panel with the least amount of resistance.

Honeycomb mesh grill allows warm air to escape the power supply and PC system with ease.

The PowerGuard status LED has six different settings. It will warn you when PSU protection has been activated, generally because of an abnormal power supply or fan operation. It's certainly an innovative step, but I'm not sure it really brings serious benefits yet. Diagnosing power supply failures/problems hasn't been seen as a constant concern, since the powersupply is generally a passive piece of equipment.

Intake grills along the upper portion of the powersupply allow hot air to escape the PC chassis a little easier. Modular plugs are separated into two categories (red - videocard, black - system).

Modular cables are where this power supply really shines, so let's see what kind of options it brings to the table next.
