The Crucial Ballistix PC3-1280 shows that it has a lot of
power here in Sisoft Sandra. The memory bandwidth numbers are surprisingly low
compared to the other DDR3 memory, but latency is pretty good.
WinRAR Internal Benchmark |
Source: RARLabs |
|
This
command generates random data, which contain specially introduced redundancy
increasing load to processor and memory. Then data are passed through RAR
compression and decompression algorithms and output of decompression algorithm
is compared with source data. If any difference found, WinRAR reports "Errors
found - Yes" in the command window. Also WinRAR displays a size of processed
data and compression speed, current and resulting, in kilobytes per second. You
may use the resulting speed value to compare RAR performance in different
conditions.

In the WinRAR compression test, bandwidth is king. At
stock speeds the Crucial Ballistix PC3-12800 is ever so slightly slower than the
other DDR3 memory PCSTATS tested recently. Overclocking helps though and puts
the Crucial memory in first place.
PCMark05 is
a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of
the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to
represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses
the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home
usage.

PCMark05 numbers put all DDR3 memory within striking
distance of each other. Overclocking does not boost the overall score much, but
does increase the memory score
slightly.
