Is it easy to use ? Yepp! Usability stems for
the limited amount of features the player offers. You can Skip, Pause, and Stop songs from
a large keypad on the front. As well there is a "Seven-mode equalizer (with 3D
Sound)" which is essentially a preset equalizer setting. Other options include repeat, shuffle and handy
hold option. The hold option is nice if you are bumping it around. What it
does is lock out the controls so it does't stop your favorite song just as it
is getting good because you accidentally activate the pause button for example..
There are a few things which would have been nice
to see included in the Yepp:
- More sound settings (extra base and so on)
- USB connection (you have to buy it as an add on)
- Built in FM radio
- More volume settings
The volume level seems to max out just before that
occasionally nice "oh my I am going deaf" loud we all sometimes
crave. Especially for those favorite of all time songs. Overall,
the Yepp is great example of quality electronics. It has a sylish look
to it, is built to take a mild beating, can be operated right out of the box,
and doesn't cost an arm and leg. I'm really looking forward to
the 3rd generation players when they hit the market. I would recommend the Yepp to anyone that is looking for a
great 64MB MP3 player under the $250 US or $350 Can level.
3rd Generation players
should be coming very soon. These players are supposed to come standard with 96-128MB of built in RAM, and be able
to handle another 64-128 MB in their expansion slots. Integration of more features seems
to be on the forefront of the new designs with features like
