DX10 Motherboard IGP Benchmarks: Call of Juarez, Crysis
While
Call of Juarez pulls off all the classic FPS mechanisms with aplomb, it also
features interesting variations that give it the air and feel of a true Western
movie. The player has the genuine impression of being a pistol-packing hero in
an age when armed confrontation was the daily grind for many adventurers. The
Developers have incorporated a classic shooting system as well as two extra game
modes.

While the
Foxconn A7DA-S does outperform the Intel GMA X4500HD integrated graphics, it's
still not fast enough in Call of Juarez to be considered playable - even with a
Geforce 8800 GTS, this game can't be played at 1600 X 1200.
Crysis is
a science fiction first-person shooter developed by Crytek. Crysis uses
Microsoft's new API, DirectX 10 for graphics rendering, and includes the new
engine—the CryEngine 2—that is the successor to Far Cry's CryEngine. CryEngine 2
is among the first engines to use the DirectX 10 framework of Windows Vista, but
can also run using DirectX 9, both on Vista and Windows XP.

It's possible to
play Crysis at basic settings on the Radeon HD 3300, but turn the resolution up
and it might be time to make use of those Crossfire-capable dual PCI Express
slots on the Foxconn A7DA-S.
