3DMark06 is the worldwide standard in advanced 3D game performance benchmarking. Note that some of the tests in 3DMark Vantage were conducted using the Intel E8400 based test system, while others were done using the Core 2 Duo E6750, which affects the overall scores in this test. With that being said, the scores in the GPU test show the Radeon HD 4770 as being slightly faster than the Radeon HD 4850, and slightly slower than nVidia's Geforce GTS 250.

Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter developed by Crytek. Crysis uses Microsoft's new API, DirectX 10 for graphics rendering, and includes the new engine—the CryEngine 2—that is the successor to Far Cry's CryEngine. CryEngine 2 is among the first engines to use the DirectX 10 framework of Windows Vista, but can also run using DirectX 9, both on Vista and Windows XP.

The ASUS EAH4770 videocard is a shade faster in Crysis than the Asus EAH4850, although both cards lose out to a single ASUS ENGTS250 DK (Geforce GTS 250) videocard. NVIDIA Geforce videocards have typically performed better in Crysis than AMD Radeon cards, though the Geforce will likely start to struggle once anti-aliasing is turned on.
