SuperPI
calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching
benchmark. The benchmark is fairly diverse and allows the user to change the
number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 Thousand to 32 Million.
The benchmark, which uses 19 iterations in the test, is set 1 Million digits.
Lower
calculation times are better. SuperPi is not multi-threaded.

The single threaded performance of the Athlon II X2 250
is very near that of the Phenom II X2 550 BE, and at times exceeds that of the
Phenom II X3 720 BE, which is 400MHz slower.
wPrime uses a recursive call of Newton's method for
estimating functions, with f(x)=x2-k, where k is
the number we're sqrting, until Sgn(f(x)/f'(x)) does not equal that of the
previous iteration, starting with an estimation of k/2. It then uses an
iterative calling of the estimation method a set amount of times to increase the
accuracy of the results. It then confirms that n(k)2=k to ensure the calculation was correct. It repeats
this for all numbers from 1 to the requested maximum.
Lower
calculation times are better. wPrime is multi-threaded.

With all threads enabled, the number crunching powers of
the Athlon II X2 250 CPU exceed that of the Core 2 Duo E8400 and E8500
processors, but it's still a little slower than its cousin, the Phenom II X2 550
Black Edition.

Sciencemark actually has the Athlon II X2 250 beating
out the mighty Intel Core i7 920 in the Primordia dual-core test, but the
results flip completely in the Mol Dyn test, which is likely more typical of
real world performance.

This
command generates random data, which contain specially introduced redundancy
increasing load to processor and memory. Then data are passed through RAR
compression and decompression algorithms and output of decompression algorithm
is compared with source data. If any difference found, WinRAR reports "Errors
found - Yes" in the command window. Also WinRAR displays a size of processed
data and compression speed, current and resulting, in kilobytes per second. You
may use the resulting speed value to compare RAR performance in different
conditions.
Higher
results are better.

The Athlon II X2 250 doesn't exactly do well in WinRAR,
which loves large amounts of memory bandwidth and high frequency speeds.
