Stalker: Clear Sky is a prequel to Stalker: Shadow of
Chernobyl. The player assumes the role of Scar, a veteran Stalker mercenary who
is rescued by Clear Sky, a faction looking to explore the ruins of the Chernobyl
power plant and solve the mystery at the heart of the Zone. The Sun Shafts test
is part of Stalker's benchmarking suite, which uses DirectX 10 graphics
capabilities and can stress even the fastest videocards.

STALKER Clear Sky tests DX10 performance, and its
lighting tests are a good way to test shader performance. Scores for the ASUS
EAH5770 CuCore/2DI/1GD5/A videocard here are a little lower than the Geforce GTX
260 videocards here.

Since this a DirectX 11 benchmark, the only cards that
get to play right now are the Radeon 5000 series. This is a punishing test and
we're going to need much more powerful GPUs to get smooth gameplay when DX11
graphics are turned up to their fullest.
