The MS-8809 follows the NVidia reference design very closely. Our board featured a TV out connector in the form of S-Video out along with the corresponding cable.
After all was said and done, we were
left with a good impression of the MSI MS-8809 GeForce video card. MSI intended
this video card to be a good but affordable performer. It never pretended it to
be a very high end solution. Does this mean that the MS-8809 is a slouch?
Definitely not. It holds its own very well, even when compared to DDR GeForce
competition.
The highly overclockable SDR memory made us feel a little bit better about the absence of DDR memory. Overall, we feel MSI succeeded in their mission to bring affordable GeForce performance to the masses. Now, if we can find where to buy one, we'll be in good shape.
