As far as real world Windows performance goes the BE6-II wins again by 2.2 points higher than the VA6. Question is, are you going to notice this difference? Maybe, maybe not. Personally I didn't notice much of a difference in Windows. As far as gaming performance goes keep in mind that if you are using a Voodoo 3 board or a TNT 2 board you will not notice any kind of difference. These boards seem to be maxing out around the 550-600 MHz mark. The only way you are going to see a difference is if you are utilizing a GeForce video card. And then we are talking maybe about 15-20 fps between the two chipsets. But, if you are getting 120 fps already, are the extra 20 fps going to make a difference in your game play? That's definitely up to each individual.
Conclusion
The ABIT VA6 has certainly proven to be a excellent overclockers board. It proved to be rock solid in any bus speed, it has great overclocking features, and most importantly an excellent price. At an estimated street price of $89.00 it's certainly a bargain. Let's not forget the always great quality and documentation that we always expect from ABIT. All things considered this is definitely a board worthy of your consideration. It's true that its performance is not as high as the 440BX boards out there, but I think its features more than make up for it.
