Asetek has been producing their Vapochill unit for some time with quite a bit of success. The VapoChill unit has been designed to be a very flexible and relatively inexpensive super-cooling solution.
Now, the actual socket CPU kit or evaporator if you will. This is what sits on top of your CPU to dissipate the heat. It is our understanding that this particular unit is quite a bit of an improvement over the older slot type. It is a much better design helping take the guesswork out of assembling this bad boy. And yes, some assembly is required.
It certainly doesn't look like a cooler. More like a weird sex toy. Har, har!
Below is the picture of the actual cooling unit with the compressor and the condenser. This has also been improved with smaller dimensions as well as more measures to reduce the risk of condensation.
Here's the inside of the case. Looks reasonably roomy.
Here we see the Integrated LED display and ChillControl. This allows the user to check on the status of the VapoChill system as well as program temperature limits.
And last but not least, the front face. It's certainly a departure from the old square looking one that AseTek used to use with their slot systems. The front "Nike" swoop thing in front comes in four different fruity colors just in case you want it to much your upholstery. Very nice indeed.
Well,
that's about it. This is just a preview of the actual review, which should be
coming your way in the next few weeks. We have very high expectations for this
unit, so it will be fun to see what happens. It certainly looks very promising.
