Quake III Arena is a First Person Shooter (FPS)
that revolutionized gaming as we know it. Using multiple light sources
and having graphics textures that can fill videocards, even after 3 years it's
still able to bring a cutting edge system to its knees.

Again, at stock speeds, all the memory performs at
about the same, which is already very good. Let's take a look at what
happens when the system is overclocked!

With the FSB overclocked, the Corsair has a
hard time taking the lead. Still, the numbers are very nice. Beating the
'evil' P4/Rambus combo!
Final Conclusions:
So
what can be said about the XMS2400 DDR from Corsair? Well in my mind it's simply
amazing!
The PC2400 rating that Corsair give their
XMS memory is very conservative; everywhere on the web, people have been
hitting 166 MHz FSB+ with the same memory, and this stick of XMS didn't
disappoint. In fact, it topped every stick of RAM we had here in the
office!
While Corsair has done a excellent job
with their XMS PC2400 DDR RAM, it does beg the question "do you need it?" 150
MHz FSB isn't a JEDEC standard, and since it's rated
to run at 166 MHz FSB, this memory is really
only catering towards tweakers and overclockers.
Perhaps it's time for
Corsair to "officially" embrace their more wild side and endorse
overclocking as much as their memory does!
