Please
note that CPU speed was approx. the same though out
all the tests. At 133 MHz FSB, a 11.5 multiplier was used to = 1533 MHz at a
166 MHz FSB, a 9.5 multiplier was used to = 1575 MHz.

Business Winstone is a system
level, application based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running today's Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98 SE, Windows NT
4.0 (SP6 or later), Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP which runs real
applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC
takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

Business Winstone 2001 get's a
healthy gain of just under 10%, which is due to the faster memory subsystem.
However, as a user, you wouldn't know the difference.

Content Creation Winstone 2001
keeps multiple applications open at once and switches among those applications.
Content Creation Winstone 2001's activities focus on what we call "hot spots,"
periods of activity that make your PC really work--the times where you're likely
to see an hourglass or a progress bar.

Like Business Winstone
2001, Content Creation is able to differentiate between the two systems, again the
difference is just under 10%, and it's again due to a faster memory subsystem.
Unlike Business Winstone though, this is a difference the average user should be
able to notice.
WinBench 99 is a
subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics,
disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. WinBench 99's tests can run
on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me
systems.

As we can
see here, thanks to the higher FSB, even though the PCI's and AGP are in spec, at a
166 MHz FSB they communicate with the Northbridge and Southbridge quicker which leads to faster performance. It's
difficult to really tell the difference with office applications on the
user level, but over time, the quicker solutions will net a
benefit.
SiSoft Sandra 2002 is designed
to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components.
The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent
real world performance.

Overall, Sandra 2002 can't
differentiate between the two systems except in the memory benchmark. Obviously
there would be a big increase because the FSB is 33 MHz more.
