Patriot's Secret Weapon on Sluggish DDR-2
Hello,
It's been quite a while since Colin got as excited about a couple sticks of RAM as he did with the Patriot Memory PC2-8000 modules in this
Edition of the Newsletter... low latency and high speed capability all in one package,
how very versatile! Colin's review on this DDR-2 RAM is a good read. Be
sure to give it a once over, especially if you're considering the upcoming
socket AM2 Athlon64 processor or running an Intel Pentium 4 PC right now.
Next up is the nicely built ABIT AN8 32x
motherboard with twin PCI Express x16 slots that receive a full 16 lanes
of PCI Express each. Try saying that 10
times fast! ABIT is fresh from a merger with a company called USI, and now
known as Universal ABIT, so it will be interesting to see where
things head from now on. After that we look back
at the hefty AMD Athlon64 FX-60 processor (among the best in
its class), the brand spanking new mainstream MSI NX7300GS videocard, and a 1GB flash based MP3 player from Samsung called the
YP-U1ZB. Gotta love those names... :-)

Enthusiast calibre RAM usually only comes in one of two forms; high speed memory with lax timings or lower speed memory with tight timings.
Making a decision at this crossroads will have a big impact on your PC's
performance, and for most of us it's confusing as to which route is the
best to follow. What sets this pair of PC2-8000 DDR2 memory apart from the

timings settings. Patriot Memory's PDC22G8000+XBLK memory is rated for a

ABIT's back and it's getting ready to give DFI, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte a serious
run for the money. It's newest flagship Athlon64 motherboard is the ABIT
AN8 32X, based upon the nForce4 SLI x16 chipset (nVidia C51D and CK804 SLI). As you know, the nForce4 SLI x16 chipset allows two nVIDIA
PCI Express videocards to run in SLI mode with each card receiving the

Consumers interested in occasional gaming, but not willing to fork out loads of cash should really applaud what the MSI NX7300GS-TD256E
videocard has to offer. The PCI Express x16 MSI NX7300GS-TD256E videocard
supports dual monitors (DVI / analog) and includes a TV-Output option for
S-Video and Component output cables. The GeForce 7300GS GPU will snatch a
bit of system memory for its own use by design, but the MSI NX7300GS still

As MP3 players go, there are literally
hundreds of makes and models to wade through. Lesser players suffer
horrendous battery longevity, frustrating control and navigation menu's,
and thrust users into a world of basic features that are akin to peddling
down the highway like the Flintstones do. The Samsung YP-U1ZB MP3
player has 1GB of memory and a nice black and white back-lit LCD
display. The YP-U1ZB draws power from an internal rechargeable Li-polymer
battery that puts out roughly 13-hours of music. Best of all, the
whole contraption recharges right in the USB slot with the same USB2.0

The new dual core AMD
Athlon64 FX-60 processor PCSTATS is testing is based on the Socket 939
form factor, with each individual core clocked at 2.6
GHz. Make no mistake about it, the AMD Athlon64 FX-60 is the most
versatile desktop processor on the market... and as we'll soon show you,

Athlon64 FX-60 CPU is physically identical to all 939-pin AMD

PCstats Weekly Tech Tips: Don't Manage My Computer |

This tip is for those who are paranoid
about computer security. ;-) The 'Manage My Computer' option
is very powerful, however in the wrong hands it can totally
wreck a computer.
Disabling this feature is quite easy; first we need to load up the registry editor (Click Start go to Run and type regedit and press the OK button). From there follow this path HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> Explorer and create a new DWORD value with the title NoManageMyComputerVerb. Give it a value of 1 then exit and reboot your machine.
From now on, that particular computer user will no longer have the 'Manage My Computer' option. Do this to every user account you want to restrict.
