Synopsis
It is wise to remember that a 15"
LCD display is comparable to that of a 17" CRT in viewable screen size.
So while a 15" CRT is definitely out of the question today, a 15" LCD
operates at 1024x768 resolution - more than enough for web surfing and day-to-day computing.
The list of features
accompanying the Samsung 152T are pretty light; apart for a collapsing stand, wall mounting
capabilities and integrated cable ports at the base there really isn't anything in the way
of "features." That is one of the reasons we actually like the 152T.
Without shoddy integrated sound, or other questionable "add-on's" the only
way to gauge the value of the display is to look at the LCD specs. Blasting out
a brightness of 350 cd/m2 and a contrast rating of 450:1 the 152T certainly
seems like it has all the bases covered well. Examining the spec sheet more
closely we will note the 25ms pixel response time, and 0.297mm dot pitch
(standard for this screen size and resolution).
Drawing
32W and weighing in at 2.9kg the Samsung 152T is a lightweight 15" LCD
display that comes in thin, ever so cute, and immanently portable. Granted, most of us
will be gunning for the 17" or 18.1" LCD out of sheer lust.
However for those looking for something which doesn't take up too much space,
and that frankly follows well in the footsteps of the F.A. Porsche Design 171P,
the 152T offers a lot to look up to. This is a really nicely designed 15" LCD
display for people looking for a 15" LCD. In that it sense it serves its purpose
very well, with excellent screen characteristics (barring maybe the somewhat
shallow vertical viewing angles) and grace.
Do you
think this 15" LCD display
is too small or just right? Visit the forums and speak your own mind.
