Overclocking the 8K3A+ was a very interesting
adventure. We had some pretty weird results.... Because of the KT333CE's
2/5th AGP and 1/5 PCI divider we found that the
overclocking performance of the motherboard wasn't as great as we had initially hoped it would
be.
In fact, even at 180 MHz FSB's we could barely beat out older
KT266A based boards at 166 MHz. We noted these results in the KT333CE VS
KT266A article. We were able to get the Epox
8K3A+ up to a 180 MHz FSB however as you'll see
the performance is honestly not as impressive as it should be with the KT333
chipset.

SYSmark2001 uses real world applications
concurrently as an accurate way to test the system by following patterns that
reflect the way real users work. SYSmark2001's workloads accurately represent
today's updated business usage model. The benchmark runs at a realistic
execution speed, with think times between application interactions, in order to
emulate a desktop user's interaction with the operating system and applications.
Higher numbers denote better performance.
The 8K3A+
performs very well in SysMark2001 and overclocking boosts performance by a bit.
SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001
rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during testing have
been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the new SysMark2002 uses the
Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's SSE
instructions.
SysMark2002 confirms what SysMark2001 says, the Epox
8K3A+ with an AthlonXP 2100+ is simply a monster.
