SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001 rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during testing have been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the new SysMark2002 uses the Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's SSE instructions.

As SysMark shows us (Red AMD, Blue Intel), the Pentium 4 based solutions clearly lead the way in Internet Content Creation. Only when the P4 is equipped with SDRAM does it fail to beat the AthlonXP 1700+ with DDR. Probably the most cost effective solution here is the AthlonXP 1700+ with the MSI MS6378 and SDRAM. It's the least expensive combination and offers good performance.
