The layout of the of the 6533 in general is very close to that of MSI's 6526GL which means it's very compact and efficient. Based on the SiS 650 chipset the 6533 supports 100 MHz FSB based Pentium 4's on the Socket m478 format.

The integrated graphics are taken care of by the SiS650 chipset and the performance of that chipset is moderate. Text was readable at 1024x768-32bit, but increasing it to 1280x1024 caused the majority of the screen to be blurry and become difficult to read.

Like the 6526GL the 6533 also has heatsinks on top of the MOSFET's which helps cool down the power regulators. Unlike most VIA and Intel chipsets which use either active cooling or large passive heatsinks, the SiS 650 only requires a small green heatsink like those found on most old i440BX boards.

Even though the 6533 does have onboard video it's nice to see that MSI included a 4x AGP slot. This is very helpful should you find your needs change with time, necessitating the move to a full-fledged videocard.

With USB 2.0 gaining popularity it would have been nice to see the motherboard include support for it as well, but this is not the case. Also without the accompanying USB brackets, the two existing USB1.1 headers are not very useful.

Stability of the motherboard was iffy at times, locking up three times during the SysMark2002 Benchmark and once in Winbench 99 for unknown reasons. Of the things we liked was the expandability of the motherboard. Having an AGP slot is extremely useful should you find your needs change in the future.
