The GSA-4082B drive tackles CD-R/RW and DVD-/+RW media as well as DVD-RAM discs. The LG GSA-4082B can write DVD-/+R media at 8X, DVD-/+RW media
at 4x, DVD-RAM at 3x and read DVD's at 12x.

The CD Winbench99 benchmark runs a series of
scripted programs from a special CD in the drive and measures the time and data
transfer capabilities as a result. Higher numbers mean better performance.
The LG
GSA-4082B comes in last in the CD Winbench 99 tests, definitely not a good way
to start the benchmarks. We expected a bit more from the drive let's see how it fairs in the other benchmarks.

Here the
LG GSA-4082B performs quite a bit slower than the rest of the drives. The drive
Access Time is high, and data transfer is a bit on
the low side according to Sandra, but since this is a 32X drive going up against
52X CD readers, it isn't all that surprising.
