PCMark can
be used on desktop PC's, Laptops and even Workstations and tests everyday
computing from home to office usage. PCMark specifically stresses the CPU,
memory subsystem, graphics subsystem, hard drives, WindowsXP GUI (if WinXP is
used), video performance and even laptop batteries.
Here in
PCMark2002 all the systems score about the same at stock speeds which shouldn't
be a surprise to anyone. Overclocking allows the Gigabyte K8NSNXP to score some
pretty impressive numbers....
By
combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide
good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001 SE has been created in cooperation
with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable
set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using
real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance abilities.
Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3
and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and
Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time physics. Higher
3DMark scores denote better performance.
nForce3-250Gb based motherboards score just slightly higher
than the older NF3-150 and K8T800 chipsets. Overclocking allows the Gigabyte
K8NSNXP to break 22k with the videocard running at stock!
AquaMark3
is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming
performance of a computer system. Because the benchmark extensively utilizes
DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it represents the requirements of
typical gaming applications in 2003 and 2004.
If you're
into 3D gaming, Athlon64's have a ton of power! At stock the Gigabyte and MSI
NF3-250 motherboards are neck and neck. When overclocked, the Gigabyte destroys
everything else in its path.
