Benchmarks: AquaMark 3, Gun Metal 2
AquaMark3
is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming
performance of a computer system. Because the benchmark extensively utilizes
DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it represents the requirements of
typical gaming applications in 2003 and 2004.
The MSI
PCX5750-TD128 doesn't do too well in AquaMark3. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, GeForce
5700 class cards have never really done well in this benchmark.
Gun Metal 2
is one of the first games that will be taking advantage of DirectX 9 technology.
According to Gun Metal 2, 2x AA is enabled by
default on all videocards and the listed framerates are
average.
At stock speeds
the MSI PCX5750-TD128 and Gigabyte X600XT PCI-Express cards are neck and neck in terms
of performance. Overclocking gives the MSI card a very healthy boost!
If
1600x1200 is too much for cards like a Radeon 9800XT or GeForceFX 5950 Ultra,
you bet it's too much for the mainstream MSI PCX5750-TD128 as well.
