PCMark
can be used on desktop PC's, Laptops and even Workstations and tests everyday
computing from home to office usage. PCMark specifically stresses the CPU,
memory subsystem, graphics subsystem, hard drives, WindowsXP GUI (if WinXP is
used), video performance and even laptop batteries.
The Asus
A8V seems to handle PCmark 2002 better in both CPU and Memory portions of the
benchmark at stock speeds. Overclocking boosts the memory score higher!
PCMark04
is the latest version of the popular PCMark series. PCMark04 is an
application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC
performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including very
large applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to
be a smaller installation as well as to report very accurate results.
All systems do well in PCMark04, and the system results
are also much closer here. Overclocking boosts scores modestly for the Asus A8V.
