Unreal
Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award
winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound
and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs
the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a
DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.
Finally,
in UT2003 we see that the MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 can provide excellent framerates
with both AA/AF enabled!
Conclusions:
There's little doubt that the computer
industry moves fast. When you compare videocards to the rest of the market, the
difference is like night and day. There is no other component that changes as
quickly as videocards and graphics CPU's do.
Processors, motherboards and memory architectures last
for years and hard drive technology, until recently, could be said to last
decades. With videocards, a certain part may only be around for six months or
less (like the GeForceFX 5800 Ultra).
There's a growing trend from manufacturers to increase
the value of their products and I have to say it's about time. This card comes
bundled with a lot of goodies. Performance of the
MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 videocard was generally outstanding for its class, and it
kept up with the other GeForce 6600GT cards even though its memory was clocked
slightly slower at stock. MSI has never been exceptional in terms of overclocking
numbers, but the NX6600GT-VTD128 did well, hitting 581 MHz core and 1085 MHz
memory. It posted some excellent overclocked scores as a result.
There is absolutely nothing to complain about with the MSI
NX6600GT-VTD128, as it really is the perfect mainstream videocard. With a retail
price of $263 CDN ($214 US), I can't see this card
sitting on the shelf for any length of time. If you're looking for a new
videocard that doesn't blow your budget, this one's a great choice!
