By combining DirectX8 support with completely new
graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues to provide good overall system benchmarks.
3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and
processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite
demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test
a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders,
Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping,
support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests
using real-time physics.

We see here that the MSI
NX6600GT-VTD128 scores nicely in 3DMark and when overclocked can even break the
18k mark! The card's results were a hair below those of the other 6600 GT cards
in our roundup, but nothing to fuss over. Overclocking gave a minor performance
boost.
3DMark05
is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking
series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with
support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!

NX6600GT-VTD128 scores are in line with what we would expect when compared to
the Albatron 6600GT. As we've seen with this benchmark before, core and memory
speeds make a huge difference, so overclocking provides major dividends.
