Since the nVidia 6600 GPU in the Albatron Trinity GeForce PC6600U is already
running a bit faster than spec, we weren't sure how much further we'd be able to
push it, but we were pleasantly surprised by the end results.
Starting at stock speed, we were able to stretch the core
speed all the way up to 514MHz! Not bad at all. Albatron must be using different
silicon for the GPU compared to the vanilla Trinity PC6600 card.
And yet, on
the other hand we weren't quite so successful overclocking the memory. Anything past 743MHz refused
to cooperate with our benchmarks, so we settled for that speed.
Still not
bad when combined with the good core overclock. Let's move on to the benchmarks
and see what kind of results we get.

By combining DirectX8 support
with completely new graphics, 3DMark 2001 SE continues to provide a good overall
system benchmark. 3DMark2001 SE was created in co-operation with the major 3D
accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic
tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming
technology to test a system's true abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex
Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump
Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two
game tests using Ipion real-time physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better
performance.

A good start for the Albatron Trinity PC6600U in 3Dmark2001SE. This
faster videocard clearly outclasses the Albatron PC6600. Overclocked numbers are
good, almost catching up with nVidia's previous generation high-end
cards.
