OCZ PC4800 Dual Channel Platinum Limited Edition Memory
OCZ PC4800 Dual Channel Platinum Limited Edition Memory - PCSTATS
It's pretty amazing to see how high people are able to clock traditional DDR memory these days, especially since the final JEDEC DDR standard was PC3200.

Benchmarks: Business Winstone 2004, SiSoft Sandra, PCMark04

Winstone 2004 Source: Zdnet

Business Winstone 2004 runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete these activities to produce its performance scores.

Business Winstone 2004
Memory: Points Ranking
2x 512MB Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL PRO (200/400) 31.5
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (200/400) 32.3
2x 512MB OCZ PC4000 Gold DC VX (200/400) 31.8
2x 512MB OCZ PC4800 Platinum (200/400) 31.6
2x 512MB OCZ PC4800 Platinum (318/636) 32.7

At stock speeds, the OCZ PC4800 DC Platinum LTD Ed memory performs at virtually the same speed as the other memory, and even overclocking doesn't really boost performance. Business Winstone rarely shows much of a difference between comparable memory though.

SiSoft Sandra 2004 Source:Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (200/400) 6058 6026
2x 512MB OCZ PC4000 Gold DC VX (200/400) 6081 6045
2x 512MB OCZ PC4800 Platinum (200/400) 6121 6042
2x 512MB OCZ PC4800 Platinum (318/636) 7184 7102

I guess we shouldn't expect much of a bandwidth boost if the processor clock speed is running at approximately the same speed. Overclocking increases scores nicely.

PCMark04 Source: FutureMark

The latest version of the popular PCMark series, PCMark04 is an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including whole applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to maintain a smaller installation size while still giving accurate results.

PCMark04 shows a decent boost due to overclocking, so let's see what the 3D applications say.
