Both dual-core processor boards display CPU benchmark
numbers vastly higher than the other motherboards in the test, but memory
bandwidth is slightly disappointing. We'll see if this causes problems for the
Gigabyte GA-8I955X Royal in the rest of the benchmarks.
SuperPI
calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching
benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that
can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1
Million digits and 19 iterations.

The Gigabyte GA-8I955X Royal flexes some muscle here and
edges past the rest of the pack. The dual-core processor appears to help here,
given that both boards using the Pentium D finished first and second in this
test. It's interesting to note that the 955X chipset knocks a second off SuperPi
over that of the 945P based GA-8I945P Pro motherboard.
