In the Advanced Chipset Features section we
get the usual DDR2 memory timing adjustments like CAS Latency, RAS to CAS Delay,
Row Precharge, etc. You can also adjust the HyperTransport link between the
Northbridge and Southbridge, however the Foxconn NF4SLI7AA-8EKRS2 motherboard
that we used did not like running HTT at 1 GHz.
In the SuperSpeed menu we find the voltage
controls. Evidently, Foxconn is not afraid to give its customers full control of the
motherboard. You can raise both Southbridge and Northbridge voltages independently of each
other (1.74V max for SB, 1.75V max for NB), increase the DDR2
memory voltage to a very high 2.55V and CPU voltage
+0.8V with whatever processor you are using.
In the
Performance Options menu we find the timing adjustments, there is the FSB/Mem turbo
mode which acts like a dynamic overclocker (for testing this was disabled). Setting
the System Clock mode to Expert allows one to adjust the FSB as well as the
memory frequency. The bus speed can be tuned between 790 and 2000 MHz (198-500
MHz FSB) in 1 MHz increments and the memory speed can be adjusted between
400-1300 MHz again in 1 MHz increments.
