High
speed commercial DVD+RW discs are still very hard to come by, and here the AOpen
DSW1812P performs
exactly as expected with a 4x rated disk. It is rated for 8x, if you can find suitable
media.
Nero's CD Speed burn tests a DVD+R DL rated at
2.4x. The program emulates a burn that would fill the disc with 8.5GB of data.
This test is done by simply placing blank recording media into the burner and
running CD Speed the software.

The AOpen DSW1812P certainly does very well in the DVD+R
Dual Layer burning. It is able to reach an amazing 12.3x speed on a 2.4x rated
disc. That's surprising since the drive's DVD+R DL writing speed is suppose to be a max of 8x.
