To
test the top speed of SuperTalent's T1000UX2G4 part, the memory was installed into the Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard (NF680i) with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor. Starting at DDR2-800 speeds with CAS latency settings at 4-5-4-12, the memory frequency was bumped up in 20 MHz increments.
Almost immediately, the SuperTalent
T1000UX2G4 memory ran into stability problems... but as we quickly
discovered this was because of a voltage setting we overlooked. At 860MHz we noticed that the memory was running with 1.8V, so that was increasing to 2.2V. Moving to the stock rated operating voltage (2.2v) solved the stability issues we had seen initially and allowed the T1000UX2G4 memory to continue overclocking.
After the SuperTalent T1000UX2G4 memory voltage was increased, the memory had no problems reaching 1000 MHz, or its default rated speed. To reach any higher the voltage had to be bumped up to 2.3V. In the end, the SuperTalent T1000UX2G4 hit a maximum speed at 1044 MHz when running on tight CAS Latency timings.
Loosening up the memory timings to 5-5-5-15 coaxed a little more from the SuperTalent's T1000UX2G4 memory. With these timings, PCSTATS was able to push it to 1044 MHz, and then just as quickly 1100MHz. With 2.3V and lax timings, the maximum speed we achieved with Supertalent's T1000UX2G4 modules was 1160 MHz. Fast.
Prelude to Benchmarks
The details of how the SuperTalent
T1000UX2G4 memory test system was configured for benchmarking,
including the specific hardware, software drivers, operating system and
benchmark versions are indicated below. In the second column are the general
specs for the reference platforms this pair of PC2-8000 DDR-2 memory is to be
compared against. Please take a moment to look over PCSTATS test system
configurations before moving on to the individual benchmark results.

Performance of
all the memory at stock speeds is the same, that
much shouldn't be a surprise. Overclocking memory alone in your PC system gives
it a slight boost in the Office Productivity tests although you'd probably
be hard pressed to notice.

Memory bandwidth and latency are surprisingly good for the SuperTalent T1000UX2G4 despite running at
the same settings as the previous memory. When overclocked we see a small boost
in overall bandwidth, as well as lower latencies.

PCMark05 numbers are flat for the SuperTalent T1000UX2G4, but that's expected. Please keep in mind that the
rest of the system is kept at stock speeds when the memory has been
overclocked.
