PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

PCMark05 numbers are not as high as we had expected. The Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3G trails the nVIDIA GeForce 7050PV based motherboards slightly. This may be an issue with the AMD 690G chipsets though as all motherboards based on this platform perform at around the same.

The integrated AMD Radeon Xpress 1250 videocard is perfectly adequate for 2D tasks like work processing or watching videos but it's certainly not a gamer's videocard. The 3DMark06 results should show that's pretty obvious. Good thing there's a PCI Express x16 expansion slot, when a GeForce 8800GTS 320MB videocard is installed performance shoots through the roof!
