Only one other DDR3 memory module was available at the
time of this review, so the comparisons over the next few pages are going to be
pretty succinct. :-) Memory bandwidth of the Corsair DOMINATOR
Twin3X2048-1800C7D DDR3 memory is very good at stock speeds, when overclocked it
breaks the 8000 MB/s mark. Impressive. Corsair's memory does better in the
latency tests due to its tighter stock timings. Overclocking also improves
results in the latency benchmark.

This
command generates random data, which contain specially introduced redundancy
increasing load to processor and memory. Then data are passed through RAR
compression and decompression algorithms and output of decompression algorithm
is compared with source data. If any difference found, WinRAR reports "Errors
found - Yes" in the command window. Also WinRAR displays a size of processed
data and compression speed, current and resulting, in kilobytes per second. You
may use the resulting speed value to compare RAR performance in different
conditions.

Tighter timings at DDR3-1333 MHz allow the Corsair
Twin3X2048-1800C7D DDR3 modules to eek out a slight lead over Super Talent's
W1866UX2G memory, in WinRAR's internal test. Overclocking boosts throughput, and
the system is able to compress 1612KB/s which is pretty darn sweet.
PCMark05
is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance
of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to
represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses
the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home
usage.

The PCMark05 results are especially interesting, have a
look at the memory portion of the test. There is almost a 160 point lead from
the Corsair memory, even at DDR3-1333 MHz. Overclocking simply makes things
faster.
