Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a
complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also
purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

The Super Talent W1866UX2G8 DDR3 memory scores similar
results to that of the Corsair DDR3 memory PCSTATS tested previously. Overclocking
increases memory bandwidth and lowers latency nicely. At stock the two memories are
fairly evenly matched.
WinRAR Internal
Benchmark |
Source: RARLabs |
|
This command
generates random data, which contain specially introduced redundancy increasing
load to processor and memory. Then data are passed through RAR compression and
decompression algorithms and output of decompression algorithm is compared with
source data. If any difference found, WinRAR reports "Errors found - Yes" in the
command window. Also WinRAR displays a size of processed data and compression
speed, current and resulting, in kilobytes per second. You may use the resulting
speed value to compare RAR performance in different
conditions.

Overclocking the Super Talent DDR3 RAM showed us a pretty large boost in WinRAR's compression test! Looks like
the extra bandwidth from DDR3 is definitely appreciated by this type
of software application.
PCMark05 is a
premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the
latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to
represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses
the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home
usage.

PCMark05 results at stock speeds have an interesting story to tell. For some reason the Super Talent DDR3 memory
is slightly slower than Corsair's DDR3 RAM, at least at stock speeds. Odd
since both pairs of DDR3 memory are running at the same speed and timings.
