The ASUS AI Tweaker controls in the BIOS offer
both voltage and clock speed adjustments for
overclocking the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3's memory, CPU and IGP settings old school style.
The IGP can have both its access to the
embedded 128 MB of DDR3 1333Mhz Sideport Memory and it allocation of system
memory customized, depending on user need. It's also possible to overclock the
IGP through this menu as well. Note that if 'GFX Engine Clock Override' is enabled for BIOS overclocking of the GPU, it disables the ASUS GPU software overclocking tool in Windows.
The Radeon HD 4290 IGP can be further
configured on its own advanced page, along with the integrated HD audio codec.
ASUS' Core Unlocker can also be enabled
through the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3's BIOS options menu, which will tell you the
current state of the processor's cores and allow the user to set how many cores
need to be unlocked.
Memory timings can all be set manually in the
M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard's BIOS, which allows users to tune memory DIMMs down to
the individual clock cycle.
Next up, power draw measurements and PCSTATS test system specs...
then it's on to benchmarks!
